چکیده
In the present study, Ta coatings with a thickness of 1.7 and 4.2 μm were deposited on Ti samples through reactive magnetron sputtering. The are furthermore treated by scanning electron beam in order to form Ti-Ta surface alloy. A change phase composition alloy was observed X-ray diffraction (XRD). microstructure chemical studied via microscopy (SEM) energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDX). results indicate that both cases alloyed zone remains same at about 50 μm. concentration increases increase pre-applied coating. sample coating has single-phase hexagonal closed packed structure, corresponding \(\alpha \) phase, whilst exhibits biphasic closed-packed structure body-centred cubic '\) martensitic β phases.

Age Hardening of Ultrafine Grained Al-Ti-Cr Alloys Fabricated by Continuous Electron Beam Evaporation
Supersaturated Al-Ti-Cr alloys were produced by a continuous electron beam evaporation technique. The as-deposited alloy sheets were fcc supersaturated solid solution with an average grain size of about 400 nm. Due to the fine grain size, the hardness of the alloy was as high as 270Hv. The sheet showed age hardening, and the peak hardness of 340Hv was obtained after aging at 623K for 900 s, in ...

Electron beam welding has shown a remarkable job in the space industry for welding of components. It is performed under a vacuum environment that eliminates foreign matter such as hydrogen, oxygen, and other gases. Joining of similar and dissimilar materials is the main advantage of electron beam welding with high depth to width ratio as well as sharp focus at the point where parts are to be we...
متن کاملCorrosion resistance of Ti-6Al-4V and ASTM F75 alloys processed by electron beam melting
The electron beam melting (EBM) is a useful technique for fabricating alloys that are difficult to machine and require expensive tools as well as the presence of inert atmosphere for further treatments. Under vacuum, EBM provides a controlled environment, reducing the drawbacks of the alloys of their processing in a conventional manner and thereby improving their microstructure, which can enhan...
